A couple weeks after the loss of my Mother in 2010, this month-old kitten appeared out of the blue in our small chicken barn. My husband found him laying in the hay underneath the chickens as they sat on their roost. We named him "Little Charlie".
Just as we were getting attached to "Little Charlie" and enjoying his presence, he disappeared. It was explained best to me by a friend of mine who said "Little Charlie" had been sent our way to provide comfort after the passing of my mother and moved on to someone else who needed that comfort when his work with us was done.
